Lori's 2003 Holiday Limerick
"Twas The
Week Before Christmas"
December, 2003-
'Twas the week before Christmas and all through the school
Every creature was stirring, and noise was the rule
Jan's office was crammed with much last minute stuff
And people were saying, "Enough is enough"!
Teachers soothed all hurt feelings; excitement was mounting;
Projects needed completing, but kids were all counting.
Exchanges of presents were well under way,
Supervised by Sue, Kathey and Jay.
Gingerbread night returned sans a slip,
And several families were planning a trip.
Latkes and dreydles - they too played a part,
As Chanukah magic lent its own spark.
In Orff and recorder the creations were grand,
With Rudolph, Oh Chanukah, and a Jingle Bells band.
Spanish, PT and brain gym moved along,
Lending their special skills to make students strong.
At last the vacation has almost arrived
And Santa, that jolly old elf, has connived
To get here with presents galore for us all.
This week at the New School sure has been a ball!
My humble apologies to Clements of fame;
Composing two-liners has long been my game!
This parody, this holiday story
Was written in haste by a teacher named Lori.
Here's to joy and to Peace and to Happy Vacation.
May its many events fill you all with elation!
