Since its
formation The New School has played an increasingly active role
in the community. Visitors from a wide range of schools in local
districts have observed in the classrooms and attended workshops
in Informal Teaching Methods organized by the school. Students
from local colleges also observe and teach in our classes as a
part of their teacher training. The New School students raise
money and participate in supporting local environmental and
social projects. Students also visit nearby nursing homes to
read to seniors and involve them in craft projects.
